Title : Ai-IoT Integrated BCI for real-time neurodiagnostics and assistive care applications

Abstract:

Neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), and other neurodegenerative and cognitive impairments pose significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide, especially in rural and underserved regions of India. Early detection and timely intervention are critical to improving patient outcomes; however, access to diagnostic facilities is often limited due to high costs, inadequate infrastructure, and a shortage of trained specialists. The proposed work aims to develop an innovative, portable, and scalable Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system utilizing non-invasive Electroencephalography (EEG) for real-time brain signal acquisition and intelligent analysis to enable early diagnosis and monitoring of a wide range of neurological disorders. BCIs hold great promise in neurodiagnostics and assistive applications by decoding brain activity into actionable insights, thereby facilitating neurorehabilitation and communication for patients with severe motor impairments. By integrating advanced signal processing, artificial intelligence, and IoT-enabled technologies, the system will empower healthcare providers in resource-constrained settings to perform accurate neurodiagnostics at the point of care. This project represents a transformative step toward bridging the urban-rural healthcare divide, supporting national health initiatives, and fostering equitable access to neurological care across India.
