Biography:
Dr Chiou qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007 and received her PhD in Physiotherapy from National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan, in 2013. She attended Imperial College London as a post-doctoral research associate at the MSk laboratory until April 2018. She became a lecturer in the School of Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences at University of Birmingham in May 2018.Her research utilises neurophysiological measures to investigate the control of movement and how it is affected or adapted following injuries. Her research interests also include improving the effectiveness of therapeutic exercises using neuromodulatory strategies.
